ACT

2010 ACT Dinghy Championships at Canberra Yacht Club.

Welcome to the ACT NS14 Association. The NS14 is an Australian designed sailing dinghy, intended for competitive family sailing. It has a simple rig, is light enough to be lifted from a trailer (fully rigged) into the water by 3 persons of average strength, requires only reasonable fitness to sail, and is affordable by the private sailor.

ACT NS14 Season Report 2014-15

While it was not a standout season for getting NS14s on the water in Canberra, we did a fair amount of travelling. Mojo (Fever) travelled to regattas in Teralba, Eden and Port Stephens; Peak (Tequilla 99) to Eden and Port Stephens; Roma (Aero 8) travelled to Eden and Wallagoot; and Moondance to Eden.

Best performance of the season was James and Paddy in Mojo with a 1st and 5th in heats of the NSW States at Port Stephens. The Hans Haalebos Trophy for most improved marks Mojo as a serious contender next season with the Nationals in Canberra.

Champion for the season was Michael, with crews Sophie and Gill, in Peak beating not only the other NS14s but also the array of Contenders, Tasers and B14s over the 11 race series at the CYC.

The 47th ACT Titles were held at the YMCA Sailing Club on the weekend of 1/2 November 2014.

1st Place: Ross Hansen and Annika Hansen - Orion 1794

2nd Place: John Hanrahan and Tegan Hanrahan - Moondance 2000

3rd Place: David Cox and Annette Wright - Rhapsody 1657

The Heavyweight Trophy was won by Peter Spicer and Kathy Cox in Hex (Tiger)

Family was won by Steve and Will Akhurst in Bandit (Tiger)

Jack and Jill was won by James and Sophie Macken in Mojo (Fever).

John and Tegan also took out the Richard Morcum NS14 handicap trophy at the Eden regatta on a countback from Peak.
