• Racing starts on 28th December and finishes on 1st January
• There are 10 races scheduled with a mix of long course (up to 1.5 hours) and short course back-to-back (45 minutes or so) planned
• Racing is planned for the afternoons leaving time to explore Canberra in the mornings. We have already secured discounts for some attractions including the Dinosaur Museum, Cockington Green and electric go karts. Regular Parliament House tours are free as is the War Memorial and many other national attractions
• There are lots of prize categories, including the new TCF category whereby your hull design will be given a handicap. All categories will get a flash wood trophy of an NS14
• There will also be other sponsored prizes which we will announced closer to the event
• To help us run the event, we would very much appreciate it if you could have your boat weighed by your State/Club measurer before you come to Canberra (you will see space on the entry form to insert the details of the weighing). If that is not possible we will weigh you in Canberra up until midday on the 28th – no boat will race unless it has been weighed
• Please also help us by entering by 27th November, if only to make sure you get a regatta T-shirt the correct size, which is included in your entry price
• Also included in your entry price are free BBQs every evening after sailing - except the last day where we will have nibbles during the presentations
• We have arranged low cost accommodation and the YMCA Lodge. Please get in touch with me asap.
I look forward to seeing you all in Canberra at the end of the year. Good sailing

The Canberra Yacht Club

The Canberra Yacht Club was founded in 1959 as a focus for people from the ACT and surrounding regions who enjoy sailing. The Club provides recreational opportunities as well as organised racing on Lake Burley Griffin, usually on a Sunday and during the warmer months twilight sailing on a Wednesday evening.

More information is available on our website We also offer a full range of training and discovery opportunities through our accredited non profit Sailing School and Youth Sailing Academy. The club puts a strong emphasis on training and opportunities for young people as members of the Club's Youth Racing Squad.

The CYC also offers easy access to sailing for people of all ages through the hire of boats to people with some sailing ability. We also operate a boat shop with a wide range of fittings and paints.

Sailing is a sport for all ages, abilities and circumstances. You can spend as much or as little as you like. It is family oriented and opens up the scope for great holidays in places that non-sailors rarely see along Australia’s coastlines and inland lakes and waterways.
