A Message from Tasmania to NSW ...

The season is underway and it is still not too late to late to get organised for the Nationals in Tas.
I encourage you to consider the following cost effective options:

1 Low cost travel on the Spirit of Tasmania

Day sailings without a cabin dramatically reduce the cost as does car topping.

Travel is still available leaving Melb at 9.00am on the 26th December and returning on 4th January at 9.00am.

Cost for vehicle with NS14 on the top and two adults return is only around $800!!

Mark Thorpe has been to Tas for various Nationals and in his view this is the way to go.

If you preferred to trailer the boat to Melb and then car top from there then we have contacts for free trailer storage not far from the terminal.

If you wanted to take the trailer then the cost  increases to approx $1900 but this would include a double decker trailer so you could split the vehicle/trailer component of around $1200 two ways - $600 each.

2 Low cost accommodation at Beauty Point

If cost is the driver then we have secured shared accommodation at Tamar Cove for $30 pp per night !! - and it is only 5 mins walk to the Yacht Club.

Camping nearby is also available.

3 Fly in fly out

Jetstar have direct flights Sydney to Launceston. Down on 26 December and back on 4 January for a total cost of around $400!!

If you wanted to keep costs down then we will get you from Launceston to Beauty Point and back for free.

4 Charter boats

Limited charter boats will be available. If you are interested then please contact me and we will endeavour to meet your requirements. This would work well with 3 above.
So don't miss out on the big event this Summer because you thought it was too hard or expensive.
